Referral program process needs to be clear for both refered and referrer, I recently pass the link with my refcode to a friend who want to use digital ocean, but he have had problems trying to use it, he got an error (Incorrect Promo Code! Code not found) trying to use the refcode. He has already linked his credit card, but he haven’t created any droplet yet and he wants to use the promo code to earn $10 in credits.
The process of referral program is no so clear for newbies (like me and my friend) in digital ocean, so would be awesome if digital ocean team will improve his referral program in order to make it clear how to use it.

To use a referral code, the new user simply needs to sign up using your referral link. There’s no need to enter a promo code anywhere. If they need help applying a promo to an existing account, please open a support ticket.
