I have a nuxt js app fetching data externally from firebase. I’m noticing that page load speed is down slightly from my last host. Does increasing the ram increase the speed in general?

If your doplet is not actually hitting it’s limits, increasing the RAM won’t do anything good. I’ll recommend to check the connection to the external database, it might be what it’s actually slowing down your application.
Another solution might be some optimization on the droplet like using Redis, Opcache, APC or similar services.
