Is Digital Ocean right for me?

Posted on December 5, 2014

I’m looking to setup a server where I can have a playground for Discourse plugins/development that I’d like to pursue. It won’t have any live visitors, as I have no plans on exposing it to anyone.

Would going with an hourly rate be the best option for me? I imagine that number of hours I would use it would be far smaller than the $10.00 a month plan as I would have to use it for 660+ hours.

All of DO pricing is per hour. They just cap droplets at $X.00 amount per month.

As far as testing environment can’t think of better way of doing it. Create base server then snapshot it. Test what needs testing if your screw up badly just rebuild from snapshot.
