Question

Is it possible to access my VPS from internet without having a domain

  • Posted November 29, 2013

I am planing to register for a VPS plan to test some web applications. I haven’t registered a domain for this applications. As far as I know you do not provide any static IP.

My question is, if I want to reach a page like ABC.html on my VPS from the internet will this be possible and what will the url be like

thank you

<b>“As far as I know you do not provide any static IP.”</b> <br> <br>Not true. What made you think that? Did you read that somewhere? <br> <br><b>“if I want to reach a page like ABC.html on my VPS from the internet will this be possible and what will the url be like”</b> <br> <br>Yes, it’s possible. All you have to do is add your cloud server’s (static) IP address to your local machine’s hosts file and assign to it a fictitious domain name, e.g. <code>abc.dev</code>

Yes, you get one static public IP with your digitalocean VPS, just use that instead of a domain.
