That’s a different story, now we know that you’re trying to access websites from your Windows droplet.
You have two options indeed:
- Using a VPN which I am not a big fan in this case as it can be expensive
- Using Proxy Servers to reach that region, proxy servers that can be configured directly to your droplet browser
Anyway for any of the options you chose just make sure is a trusted service provider.
From my point of view you’re trying to reach out to “forbidden land on CN” and you’re hitting the “Great CN FireWall”.
IMO your account can’t be suspended if you’re using a VPN Client for Genuine / Legit reasons, you have a legit Droplet with a legit VPN Client and you’re using these for legit tasks.

By definition VPN is used for security purposes, I don’t think DO will ever suspend your account for securing you communication channel.
Those “accounts” that were suspended I don’t think they were storing / getting / doing the right stuff there.
HideMyAss sounds quite a dubious name, I don’t bother to see / check their website but IMO if you want to use a proper VPN solution you should start by building your own VPN Tunnel from the scratch (Droplet + Floating IP + OpenVPN + Internal Network + Credentials + SSL and so on).
Btw, why would you need a VPN? Without providing more details I’m afraid no one can help.
