I turned off my droplet and deleted the domain which were added in the droplet.
How come after doing all these my domain is still active and shows the website?

For the website part, it could be that caching makes it seem as if the website is still active, or more likely you did not delete the correct droplet.
For the domain, domain resolution isn’t impacted by creation or deletion of droplets. That would be your DNS panel.
