On my first login as root i get permission denied . I added my .pub content to the droplet and andded the identity to my ssh agent. Does it need some time before starting working?

My first guess would be that the authorized_keys file in your ~/.ssh folder may have the incorrect permissions set. Are you setting up SSH for the root user or another user?
