PHPMyAdmin vs. (windows equivalent of) sequel pro recommendation

At the beginning of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zZ7DiQ8ndE&index=5&list=PLfdtiltiRHWFuRwcp93nixCyT7zhHWUi1 users are strongly recommended to use sequel pro instead of PHPMyAdmin, due to PHPMA making some information publicly available when it’s likely that you won’t want it to be. However, this video series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVZqxoesuko&list=PLE134D877783367C7&index=2 seems to entirely revolve around the use of PHPMA. Since I’ll be following along with both video series to the best of my ability and do not want users of the end product to be able to view confidential information, which program should I use? Problems include:

• If I use PHPMA, users will be able to view confidential information, which is unacceptable. As such, the videos’ creator strongly recommends that we don’t use it.
• If I use a windows equivalent of sequel pro instead of PHPMA, there’s a strong possibility that I won’t be able to follow the 2nd video series at all since their layouts - and possibly what they’re capable of doing, too - won’t match up at all. It’s likely that I’ll be asked to do something in a video which isn’t possible to do with the program I end up using.
• Since I’m a complete novice to PHP, MYSQL, and software that’s designed to make working with them easier and more efficient, I don’t know which windows equivalent of sequel pro I should use, if any. Whatever it is, it must have the capability to follow along with the 2nd video series.
