Problems when configuring DNS with DigitalOcean service

Posted on March 10, 2014

Yesterday, I have set up a host server and migrate my previous wordpress site to the new host. I did this according to How to Migrate WordPress from Shared Hosting to a Cloud Server with Zero Downtime https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-migrate-wordpress-from-shared-hosting-to-a-cloud-server-with-zero-downtime step by step.

And then I set up host name with Digital Ocean according to https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-set-up-a-host-name-with-digitalocean

My site: imink.net is now still not working. I can ping imink.net, but I can’t ping www.imink.net

and when I enter dig -t NS imink.net @ns1.digitalocean.com, it returns:

; <<>> DiG 9.8.3-P1 <<>> -t NS imink.net @ns1.digitalocean.com ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 40355 ;; flags: qr aa rd; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 3, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0 ;; WARNING: recursion requested but not available

Can any one help me? I am new here. Thanks!

can you post a snapshot of your DND?

look like your DNS configuration is not correct.

it is straight forward and like this:

http://s45.photobucket.com/user/hxt57/media/downsvn-dns_zps0f4f8fd0.jpg.html

check the link and see whether your DNS records match or not…

change only the IP address and your host name

Well, poor editor here.
I put a screen shot about my DNS configuration.

http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/r669/yinan577/ecba64e0-977e-4f38-ae18-b77c2310776b_zps56489070.png

@FMCB, Can you find is there any problems?

please remove the 2nd CName record. you don’t need it. give it some time to propagate then check if it works or not.

are you using Apache?
if yes, do you have .htaccess with rules written there?
