Question

SFTP via Filezilla - public key on OS X

Hello,

I’ve spent some time trying to find the answer and I’m not finding. I hope someone can either answer the question or point me to a resource I’ve missed.

I’m trying to get files to my droplet using Filezilla. I have noted that I need to use SFTP. Using my password, I keep getting an error “Error: Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey)”.

Based on that, I assumed I needed to connect my public key to Filezilla, found a tutorial on how to that. Only to discover that in OS X, the public key is held in Keychain.

I’m at a loss here. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated on how I can connect to FTP would be greatly appreciated.

Nic

Hello, @vavroom

You should be able to set the configuration within FileZilla itself:

FileZilla -> Preferences -> Connection -> SFTP which will allow you to import your private key.
