Question

Some App Platform Environment Variables Are Undefined

I’ve successfully managed to get environment variables for my NodeJS app working, however the last couple of variables added are returning as undefined. Is there a limit to how many variables an app can have? The first 10 are working.

Update - I’ve refactored my env vars and managed to get them down to 11. But now all are being returned as “undefined”, even with a Force Rebuild and Cache Clear.

Turns out I was inadvertently deploying my .env file, which fell out of sync with source control. I was thinking source control was providing the variables when it was the .env file all along.

Hello, There is no limit on Injecting Environment variables in App-Platform. You can go into the console of your App and issue the below command to check if you are getting the value in your env variable or not.

Go to the App console:-

echo $VARIABLE_NAME
