Unable to add ssh key on a new droplet

Posted on December 30, 2020

I am trying to create a new droplet with ssh login. I used ssh-keygen to create a new key and copied the public key to the prompt but I am getting Something went wrong error when I try to sumbit it.

How can I resolve this issue.

Hi @bktotient,

You need to add the public part of your SSH key. The public part of your SSH key can be usually found in /root/.ssh/id_rsa.pub. Notice the .pub extension, this means it’s the public part. You have an id_rsa file as well, this is the private part.
