Hello, I’m wondering if I get one of the basic droplet plans and then later down the line decide to upgrade to a general purpose droplet plan if everything will transfer over smoothly? I don’t want to have to redo a lot of work just because I upgraded plans.

Hi there @trayneblouch,
Yes, this should work as expected.
One thing that you need to keep in mind is that you will only be able to upgrade to a plan that has more Disk space. For example, here I have a basic Droplet with 50GB of Disk space, so I will not be able to upgrade to a CPU optimized plan with less than 50GB of Disk space:

Hope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
Hi @trayneblouch,
You can at anytime upgrade your droplet. Generally speaking there shouldn’t be any issues. It’s actually a pretty standard procedure. Having said that, there is always a chance even if it’s 1 percent, there is a chance.
What I do in such situations is, create a backup/snapshot of the droplet and after that upgrade it. That way if it fails I can always go back to th e previous situation.
