For example, when the google drive link of a PDF is shared, it unfurls and the image(1st page of pdf) is previewed at the placed where it is shared(in a Facebook post). Is there any way to do it with the Digital Ocean CDN link for a PDF to unfurl and preview image when link is shared?

That is functionality that the app you are using is providing. So in the case of Facebook it is doing the unfurl itself. If it is setup for specific services or for generic items like PDFs will determine if the unfurl happens.
