We rebooted the droplet yesterday night and after that the website stopped working. I couldn’t even log in to the droplet. Apparently the root password had changed. I was able to reset the password via the panel.
When I log in to the droplet, I see the following message (meaningful part):
Datasource DataSourceNone Warning: Used fallback datasource
In the meantime, the site is being served by CloudFlare but we need to get the site up and running and repeated messages to Digital Ocean support have gone unanswered.
I know they ran some maintenance. I think that might have broken the droplet.
Any idea what’s going on or how to fix it?
Thanks.

We have since rolled out another droplet. That fixed the issue. We still don’t know what caused it though.
With just that information, it looks like a fluke instance where something went wrong with the cloud init script, which is what DigitalOcean uses to deploy Droplets (initial configuration).
Users can also provide their own cloud init script. Via the control panel, this would be labeled as user data.
I’ve only ran in to this once before (on my end) in roughly 4 years, which is why I’d call it a fluke, and it’s likely why deploying a new Droplet resolved the issue.
“Stopped working” is not useful info. What is the domain? What is the error? What do the logs say?
