Websites are timing out after a new domain is added to droplet

Posted on September 29, 2018

Hello, I purchased a new domain yesterday and added to the droplet today. I see that all the domains (including the new one) are timing out intermittently. I have checked the logs but they are clean. ping doesn’t show any packet loss. I can ssh to the droplet as well. Could someone give me a clue as to what’s wrong?

Thanks!

UPDATE I just did a tracert from my windows box. Here’s how it looks like:

  1 4 ms 3 ms 3 ms 172.20.10.1
  2 69 ms 33 ms 37 ms 10.206.250.10
  3 * * * Request timed out.
  4 33 ms * 32 ms 10.102.16.97
  5 76 ms 45 ms 31 ms aes-static-054.78.22.125.airtel.in [125.22.78.54]
  6 386 ms 444 ms 470 ms 203.101.95.53
  7 347 ms 358 ms 319 ms UnAssigned170.nyiix.net [198.32.160.170]
  8 339 ms 455 ms 406 ms 138.197.244.45
  9 * * * Request timed out.
 10 404 ms * 374 ms drp.let.ip

Any clue?

I’m seeing some high latency along the route starting at 203.101.95.53. Also, try a traceroute from your droplet to your home IP to see the culprit there.

I don’t think this timeout issue has anything to do with this new domain.
