I’m not sure how DigitalOcean’s referral program works. If someone uses my referral link and then fills out their billing information, they will probably notice the “promo code box” and do a quick search on Google to find a promo code.
Will I get robbed of my commission if they used my referral link but entered someone else’s promo code? How does this work?

You can type !ref in this text area to quickly search our full set of tutorials, documentation & marketplace offerings and insert the link!
Also, even if referrals aren’t the same as a promo codes, many people will Google for a promo code and end up using someone else’s referral link in the process (because most of the sites in the top search results make you click their referral link to get the code). Does the last referrer get the credit?
A promo code is not the same as a referral. There is no “someone else’s promo code”.
