When I try to login, it won't let me put in my password

Posted on October 25, 2013

Hi, I have a wordpress install, created on the one click ‘create wordpress droplet’. All going well, but I need to change some permissions to allow the auto-update of wordpress. (I have found the threads and questions that relate to that)

However, I try to login via the console on my digital ocean account (online through the browser) it lets me add the “ssh root@ x . x .x .” I press return and it gives me the password _ but it won’t let me type anything. It then eventually is showing me: Ubunto 12:10 www.waoao.co.uk tty1 www login: _

Whatever I do, or type, it asks for the password but won’t let me type anything. Am I missing something obvious - I am a noob, but can follow instructions, and as far as i know i am doing what it asks. Thanks.
