Also stuck with this. Im trying to connect to the DB with Sequel Pro and I cannot find the database username or password anywhere.
The .digitalocean_password file in the /root/ does not exist on my one-click install on Ubuntu 18.04.
Some documentation i found says that it creates a “wordpress” user, but thats all i can find.

First, check the file /root/.my.cnf. If the login/pass isn’t there, simply try to login without the password like this:
mysql -u root
If that gets you in the MySQL interactive prompt, it likely means your MySQL has not root password set. You can also check /var/www/html/wp-config.php for the password for the user wordpress (define(‘DB_PASS’, ‘xxx’)
