Why no official payment receipt?

Posted on October 9, 2014

Hi,

I just receive an email stating the following:

This is a receipt for your latest DigitalOcean payment. Nothing is due at this time.

-----------------------------------------------------
DigitalOcean Receipt - 2014-10-02 02:50:44 UTC

Amount: $12.50

DigitalOcean
101 Avenue of the Americas, 11th Floor
New York, NY 10013

I check my billing record on your control panel, but there is no official receipt for this payment.

Having filed a support ticket, it is disappointing to receive responses like:

"Unfortunately, our billing system doesn’t allow us to put it in pdf format. "

“Sorry unfortunately we only offer billing via our control panel or email.”

This is not really good customer service. As we know, payment receipt is what auditors look at when auditing a company’s account. An invoice cannot be used as a substitute.

I think Digital Ocean needs more push to implement something simple like a PDF payment receipt similar to what it has done for the invoice. Therefore, I am making this public to get some traction from the community.

Hopefully, Digital Ocean can listen to feedback and really be here for us.

It’s 2022 and still no receipts.
