While we don’t offer a pre-payment plan, due to the unknown amount of usage, we do offer PayPal as a payment method. This way you can make a payment for what you believe you will use over the course of a year. We would then deduct your monthly invoice amount from your PayPal payment each month. It’s simple to make a payment via PayPal on DigitalOcean.

Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Navigate to your payment methods page:
  2. Under Payment Methods, select the PayPal tab.
  3. Select the amount that you would like to add to your account
  4. Select the Pay Now button. This will prompt you to sign into PayPal and confirm the amount.

Please note that PayPal payments are not recurring. Thus we request you maintain a credit balance in your account equal to or greater than your monthly droplet cost. We will send an automated reminder if your balance gets too low.

  • Hi Sri Charan,
If I choose PayPal as payment plan, and add enough amount of money into
my account. Is that means I will still get monthly invoices instead of one-time payment invoice?

    • Hello,

Yes, you will still get the monthly invoices.

I’m happy to help you view your invoice. Just head over to your Billing Profile:

From there, under Billing History find the line(s) indicating Invoice. On the far right, select the View Invoice link to view your invoice.

You will find all the usage information on your invoice. Hope this helps!

  • I have the same request, having monthly invoices when my payment is one-time has more drawbacks:

    • More invoices to handle each month
    • The invoices don’t include VAT, so I have to pay VAT monthly just for DO, which is an extra transaction for which I have to pay transaction fees
    • Weird accounting because I top-up my account with $100 but I don’t get any invoice for this top-up. Shouldn’t you get an invoice for “DigitalOcean credits” once you actually deposit money?
