Are spaces in different regions totally separate?

Posted on April 28, 2020

I have a spaces account on a New York server. I want to back up this server. I would like to back it up (obviously) to a totally separate server.

If I create a spaces account and put it on a San Francisco server would this be separate from my New York Server? Would it be a “good” place to store my back up or do you have a reason why this would not be a “good” idea? Should I have my back up with a different company?

Thanks!

Yes, spaces are completely distinct between geographic datacenters, so if you added files to NYC and separately for SF, they would be distinct from each other and a complete failure of one would not affect the other. it would be viable backup solution as you intended.
