Does this answer still applies in 2016? The snapshot button on my 512MB server reads “Take online snapshot”, although it is “recommended” to power off before taking a snapshot.

Can a 512Mb server created in 2015 do an ONLINE snapshot as of today?

Backups will run automatically without interrupting the virtual machine for all cases.

Snapshots will take a server offline to do a point in time copy for plans with 256MB or 512MB memory.

For plans that are 1GB of higher, snapshots are also done without any impact to the server.

This is really great! For a 16GB Server SnapShot, how long would it take approximately? Is the time taken would wary if the Drive is SSD vs HDD?
