I’ve used Netlify before an a feature that is always very useful is the ability to set up HTTP Headers on a per-route basis with a simple configuration file.
https://docs.netlify.com/routing/headers/
This is crucial for all sorts of configs, and very helpful for the use-case I’ve been chasing all of today to no avail: Basic Authentication
https://docs.netlify.com/visitor-access/basic-authentication-with-custom-http-headers/
DigitalOcean’s Static Site components don’t seem to offer the capability of doing this. Do they, and have I just not found it? Is my only alternative to use a Web Service resource instead of a Static Site resource, and implement/mantain a server, just to inject headers and use Basic Auth?

Hey @kevinchavez,
Indeed this is not available out of the box with the App Platform, what you could do instead is to use a Droplet with Apache and implement the basic auth there:
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-password-authentication-with-apache-on-ubuntu-20-04
The best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to our Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.
Hope that helps!
