I’ve set up a Repo under my “home/user” Directory and i use git remote to push the local copy of my jekyll site. I then use a post-receive hook to trigger “jekyll build” into public_html. It is working fine so far.
Because im using Grunt.js on my local machine i am wondering if it wouldnt be easier to install the needed dependencies on my vps and then trigger “grunt build”. But how can i keep the node_modules for grunt etc. out of version control ?
How do you handle that ?

I think the simplest solution would be to just add them to the .gitgnore file. GitHub has a suggested .gitignore file for Yeoman projects:

https://github.com/github/gitignore/blob/master/Yeoman.gitignore
