I’ve been having the WORST time with Ubuntu, tried upgrading to 18.04, with problems and followed advice of others to get there but now I can’t get curl to work in php and I can’t upgrade to 20. I cannot lose my database, and would love to just rebuild in the new OS and somehow throw those items back up on it.
How can I do this?
I am open to hosting my db on a database droplet if it makes things easier, but I don’t know how to fix my problems with this current system.

Hi @melaniecarr23,
What I’ll suggest is create a new droplet as you intend to, with Ubuntu 20.04. Once you do, install everything that would be necessary for your website to work like - Apache, MariaDB/MySQL, PHP etc. Once you have them, you can migrate your website from your old droplet to the new one, don’t forget to copy over the database as well.
Once you are done, just change the DNS from your old to your new droplet and that’s it.
