Configure centos and zpanel so i can use zpanels DNS manager

Posted on April 24, 2013

If i have my nameservers at my domain registrar set to digitaloceans nameservers, will zpanels dns manager work for creating any DNS records or do I need to use digitaloceans dns config for modifying records? Or is there a specific record or something I need to do in DO’s admin panel so that I can just use zpanels dns config? I just want to be able to do my dns management in zpanel but not sure how to go about it…

Hi Diesburg,

1. Log into enom, nominet, opensrs, 123-reg etc.

2. Choose the domain

3. Set the name servers ns1.yourdomain.com & ns2.yourdomain.com

4. Set each nameserver to their own IP e.g. ns1.yourdomain.com points to 2.2.2.2 and ns2.yourdomain.com to 2.2.2.3

Then you will need to configure them in zpanel. Probably best to use the zpanel forums for more help :)

How do I set the name servers to 2 different IP’s when my droplet only has one IP? I’ve did exactly that(almost) but set them to the same IP.

2 IP’s is recommended for redundancy but i guess if you have one then set them both to the same IP.
