Hello, I have a Node.js app with Nginx reverse proxy setup. I’m using SF1 for my current Region because most of my traffic is from West Coast (USA). I’m trying to plan for scaling out and performance enhancements and the topic of the MongoDB server (droplet) came up.
If I expand droplets to NY1/2/3 for regional traffic redirection should I also setup a synced MongoDB server in the same region? If so, are there best practices for managing the sync between both database servers?
Any tips on multi-region / datacenter droplets on this topic help! Thanks,

Hey there!
There is definitely value to having your data in more than one region. When running a separate database server, having that replicated locally near your application server is absolutely going to be a positive thing for performance. Someone around here may know a little more MongoDB than me (MySQL for life), but check out this guide for setting up MongoDB replication:
