Question

Deploy function - resource says it's a web service not a function

Am I missing something? When I try to deploy a function inside my app, I get to the resources section and it says it’s a web service. Documentation shows it saying as a function but everytime I try to load in my github repo, it comes up as a web service.

Am I doing something wrong or should it be like that? It’s a php function.

Hello,

I’ve just tested this with this sample function here:

https://github.com/digitalocean/sample-functions-php-numberstowords

It all seems to be working as expected and the App Platform auto-detects that the project is a function rather than a web service.

Does your function follow the conversion as described in the docs:

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/functions/how-to/create-functions/

Example:

example-project/
├── packages
│   └── sample
│       └── hello
│           └── hello.php
└── project.yml

Best,

Bobby

Perhaps you had a composer.json at the root directory, or something similar depending on your project. I was working on a node.js function and had a package.json and package-lock.json at root and it tried to deploy a web service and function when deploying it as an app.
