What is the reason for this report?

Error 1064 restore backup sql file.

Hi. now I try to rstore backup file to my database…

mysql> mysql -u root -p daima < daima.sql;

this code does not work… it make error.

ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘mysql -u root -p daima < daima.sql’ at line 1

If you are importing a MySql dump into a new instance, you’ll need to remember to create the database first. It’s an often forgotten step.

  1. CREATE DATABASE database_name;

Additionally, it looks like you are trying to run the mysql command from a MySQL shell. Before running that command, return to the normal command line.
