Question

Especifications for a droplet with hosted projects and OSRM Server.

Good day to all. Having a 8 vCPUS with 16Gb Ram and 320SSD with some projects hosted in there I Would like to know if there is a possibility to instal and configure an OSRM server in the same Droplet as my other projects or if i have to aquire another dorplet for this purpose only (and if so, what would be the price?) Thanks in Advance

Hi @hfsventura,

I’ve never used OSRM but after reading about it, it seems it might be more suitable to be hosted on a separate droplet just to avoid issues with the other applications you have on your droplet.

Having said that, you can always try! What I mean here is, you can make a snapshot of your droplet, then try to install OSRM on the existing droplet you have. If it works without interfering with your other applications, great! If it does interfere, you can revert to the snapshot you made and create your OSRM on another newly created droplet.

The only specifications I can find about OSRM are 2GB of RAM and 4GB of SWAP. My practice is to always start with the smallest droplet, and gradually upgrade it whenever I need to do so.
