External administration for digital ocean?

Posted on February 1, 2017

Hi, I’m new to DO and want to set up a droplet with minimal maintenance.

What can I do to prevent it going down in the middle of the night?

  • Managed hosting such as serverpilot.io? But I assume they only give support and won’t actually do anything for you
  • Outsource the admin of the droplet to a company?

Any feedback and ideas would be great :)

Since DigitalOcean is an unmanaged provider, if you’re not able to administer the server yourself, and what you’re hosting is critical or even slightly so, I would advise hiring someone to setup and manage the Droplet(s) for you.

If you’re interested in hiring someone or speaking to someone about it, feel free to get in touch and I’ll be more than happy to discuss things with you. My e-mail is in my profile.
