I set up a socks5 proxy using this tutorial: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-route-web-traffic-securely-without-a-vpn-using-a-socks-tunnel
I connect to the proxy by entering “localhost” and the port in Firefox and it connects, but it closes everytime I close PuTTY. I want to use this proxy somewhere else using the IP and Proxy, how do I make it stay active when I close PuTTY?

Hello, @usernameunlocked
In order to use the proxy you need to have the ssh tunnel open. Once you close it the connection to your droplet will be closed and this will also mean that the socks5 proxy will be closed too.
Hope this helps!
Regards, Alex
