Password you enter is not visible for security purposes

*Just type in the password (it will not be visible but it enters) & press Enter

LOL… sorry… not being rude by laughing, it’s just that I also wondered what the hell was going on when I first started out using a terminal command line and no passwords were showing. Now that you’ve been advised by the above poster that you can’t see any passwords entered for security reasons, I’ll offer an additional little tip, just as a precautionary measure… Type your password into a text document and copy/paste it into the command line… that way you know that you won’t get screwed with any spelling errors. Good luck.

Hello, all

When you type your password the characters will be hidden due to security measures. It gives a little bit of extra security by not displaying a bunch of asterisks. That way, someone who sees your screen can’t see the length of your password.

Hope that this helps!
