I make proof of concept servers and would like to be able to make a system and copy a working image to one of my lab servers. I would like to keep the server for longer than is practical on digital ocean although I love and will keep their service. I have one prototype that wants 32 gigs of ram and would prefer to host that locally :)

Unfortunately it is not currently possible to export a disk image. At this time, your best bet would be to set up your local server using the same Linux distro and version, run updates on both servers and do an rsync of the filesystem.
