Question

Is it possible to us zram in a Droplet?

Hi,

I’m running a Droplet on Ubuntu 22.10 with 2GB of RAM. I learned about zram the other day, and it seemed like a good thing to try. I ran: apt install zram-config and it seemed to install successfully, but the test to see if it’s working (cat /proc/swaps) doesn’t show anything. Does this not work on DigitalOcean?

Thanks!

Mark

Hi there,

It sounds like that you’ve only installed the zram-config but not the actual Kernel module. Can you confirm which guide did you follow?

If you check your logs do you see any errors:

sudo journalctl -u zram-config.service -e
