What is the physical location of droplet backups? Are they kept in the same datacenter?

Hi there @collimarco,
As described in the answer here, backups and snapshots are initially stored on a NAS device in the same datacenter as the droplet. This is physically separate from the hypervisor that the droplet is running on. It is then encrypted and copied up to Amazon Glacier in order to be backed up off premise.
Hope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
