ISPconfig & Digital Ocean DNS managememt

Posted on August 19, 2014

I am moving my websites from my old webhoster to my droplet I have installed debian-wheezy-nginx-bind-dovecot-ispconfig-3 I first create a site in ispconfig after that in isp config i add the domains to dns reatimng the following records A mydomain.nl. [my.ip.add.ress.] 0 3600 A mail [my.ip.add.ress.] 0 3600 A www [my.ip.add.ress.] 0 3600 MX mydomain.nl. mail.mydomain. 10 3600 NS mydomain.nl. ns1.digitalocean.com. 0 3600 NS mydomain.nl. ns2.digitalocean.com. 0 3600

But this doesnt seem to work Should i create a DNS entry first at digitaloceans DNS tool do i have to set them both in ISPconfig and the DNS tool or only at the Digital Oceans DNS tool?

Thanks great article

I haven’t used ISPconfig personally, but generally when you set up vanity nameservers you’ll need to first use the DigitalOcean control panel to create A Records for your nameservers and then point them to DigitalOcean’s IPs for ns1.digitalocean.com; ns2.digitalocean.com; ns3.digitalocean.com.
