I recently decided to try out DigitalOcean VPS service. I created a new account (first time customer here), and entered my payment information. After submitting the payment information I noticed a few redirects before finally landing on a page with the text “Account Locked We are sorry to inform you that your account has been locked by DigitalOcean.”
The credit card that I provided is in my name, is valid has been used both before and after my DO registration.
Worthy note - after registering my new account and before providing payment information I noticed a modal indicating I had a promo code for $100 worth of credits, but I did not enter any promo code.
I was really looking forward to trying out DO to potentially replace my LightSail instances, but this is a huge headache.
Any idea why my account was automatically locked?
