I’d like to upgrade my droplet from Ubuntu 16 to Ubuntu 18 and I have a snapshot of my current Ubuntu 16 droplet. Is it possible to create an Ubuntu 18 droplet based on the snapshot of my current Ubuntu 16 system?
Some motivations:
This upgrade guide warns us to actually migrate to an entirely new server rather than upgrade it in-place. Taking that advise, I’m brought to another migration guide. However this guide is from 2014, and mentions many tools that are not on Ubuntu 16, so I don’t find the migration guide very useful.

Hi there,
Snapshots are on-demand disk images of DigitalOcean Droplets and volumes saved to your account. The snapshot will spin up a new droplet with the same distribution and you won’t be able to change this.
