Preparing a custom Windows Server 2012 R2 image for upload to digital ocean?

What would be the easiest/fastest way to prepare an image that can be uploaded to digital ocean?

And also, once prepared, what is the easiest way to securely transfer it? It’s going to be way too big to upload through a browser, I’m expecting 100-200 gigs. While I could give it a URL, I would rather not because there is sensitive contained in the image.

I found this reference: “If your image is too large to be uploaded through a web browser, you can also upload to our Spaces Object storage service using the S3-compatible Spaces API, and then point the custom images features to the URL of your uploaded image. When uploading via URL, make sure that the URL ends in a file name, such as www.digitalocean.com/image.raw as opposed to a masked URL such as www.digitalocean.com/image.raw?example as we check the file name before uploading.”

However, please note that in that doc it does not specifically state that Windows is supported, so that may be an issue.

Hello,

At the moment Windows is not natively supported on Digital Ocean’s droplets, but you can spin up a Paperspace instance of Windows.

Paperspace is a cloud-based machine learning platform that offers GPU-powered virtual machines and a Kubernetes-based container service.

The Windows 10 licensed edition is the most popular. This template is technically a Server edition of Windows but looks and feels like a regular desktop operating system. Paperspace also offers an unlicensed version of Windows 10 (referred to as BYOL) which requires you bring your own Windows license.
