Reoccurring charges?

Billing

I noticed, as most services, my droplet is $5/mo. Since I am testing the waters with DO (I was heavily disappointed with OVH) I would like to make sure it does not bill me next month until I come to a decision if I would like to stay with DO or not.

I checked "Billing" under my account and it says I have no history even though I have a running droplet.

  • I too tried OVH before coming here, and was very disappointed with OVH. It was too sloppy. I've been here for 5 months now, and am happy.

The reason you have no history is because you have not yet received an invoice. Each time you get invoiced, that will show up in the history, and Each time you pay the bill, that will show up in the history as well. So in my history, I have 11 items. The first item is the promo-code for $10.00 off my first month, and the other 10 are the invoice and payment for the 5 months.

Actually, now that I think about it, you should now have your first invoice as today is the first of the month, but this answer will also help anyone else that has the same question.

Hey friend!

If at any time you destroy your droplet, you will only owe either $5 or the sum of the hourly rate for the droplet (if less than $5). We bill on the first of each month for usage in the previous month. You can read a bit more about our billing practices here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/accounts/billing/

Please note that if you do not destroy your droplet, it's charges will continue to add up. For a $5/m droplet (unless using additional services, all of which state their price as well), that amount goes up to $5/m but not above it.

Same happened to me. But you can cancel it from settings. Read my latest Oscar 2019 live coverage blog here.

How to set up my payment details in order to pay my recurring fees automatically? I can't pay all fees one by one separately by hand. Ex. with paypal.
