I’m using the trial account at the moment and I’m running some speed tests on a NYC US located droplet. I tried downloading a test file from NYC Speedtest.net using wget and it’s terribly slow, from 8B/s-14KB/s. Doing an apt-get -u upgrade takes like 25 minutes when it should be way faster than that. Is this a speed limitation for trial accounts? Is this a “you pay what you get” type services?

There are limitations on trials to prevent users who haven’t authorized themselves from abusing the network and virtual servers.

It was something that we had to implement in response to a high number of fraudulent signups unfortunately.

The trial is really meant to give customers a taste of the control panel and play around with the systems but there are limitations that we have to impose since signup only requires an email.
I have the same problem, although I paid more than a week ago. Anything else I should do ?
