Subdomain Pointing To Different Droplet, but Accessing Main Droplet

Posted on September 11, 2016

Hi all,

I have two server’s setup. One is running my main website example.com & another is running a subdomain librenms.example.com. When I go to librenms.example.com after running through the http://docs.librenms.org/Installation/Installation-Ubuntu-1604-Apache/ librenms tutorial, it maps to the example.com /var/www/html folder, rather than my /var/www/librenms folder on my other droplet.

I have added the subdomain to an A record pointing to the other droplet’s ip address. Where all other A and AAAA records point to the droplet running the main site example.com. All of my other subdomains work great, they are also on the same droplet though. I have a2dissite 'd the 000-default on both servers.

Thanks

It sounds like a DNS problem (Propagation may be?). Can help you without looking at your DNS settings.
