Question

What is the recommended intervals for server reboots?

Is there a best practice to rebooting the servers? I’m wondering if a regular Ubuntu 16.04 install needs to be rebooted once a week, month, year?

No, it’s not Windows. Only kernel updates require reboots.

There is no need to reboot every month, check if there is a kernel update available from commandline. You need to reboot everytime when you update kernel.
