Question

Can't verify my domain on Firebase

I pasted the TXT string and used the default 3600 and @ for a hostname. Firebase support suggested I use a lower TXT speed and that didn’t help either when I clicked on the verify button inside of the firebase hosting control panel. It says it’s created a new record on the Digital Ocean ‘Create a new Record’ control panel.

Hello,

Note that it could take between 1 and 72 hours for the DNS cache to clear over the Globe before you could see your DNS changes.

I could suggest using this website here to check your DNS records:

  • I’m having this same issue now. I’ve been trying repeatedly for 2 weeks to get Firebase to verify my domain here at Digital Ocean. It always fails. I’ve used whatsmydns before. Just looked again. It shows correct IP info everywhere in world except 1 in Canada. Is there some trick to getting DO to allow Firebase to verify my domain ownership? I’m out of ideas.

    • Hi @locohost,

There is not really anything specific, the DNS in general works the same way for all providers.

As it has been 2 weeks, it is most likely the record that has not been added correctly and needs to be adjusted. Feel free to share the DNS record that you are trying to add here and a link to whatsmydns so I could take a look at the current setup and advise you further.

      Regards,
      Bobby
