I was wondering is it possible to deploy Django app in a droplet and React app in app platform, and if it is, is it good for performance compared to deploying everything in a droplet (by serving react to Django as static files) or deploying everything in an app platform.
btw I prefer not to deploy everything in one project, because it seems a little bit messy, I want to separate the frontend and the backend.

This should work as expected with deploying your static site on the App Platform and the Django app on a Droplet. There should not be really any noticeable performance differences.
Having said that, I would personally go with deploying both on the App Platform. The App Platform allows you to have a single app composed of multiple separate components, so technically your frontend and backend would still be separate as they will be running in different containers, but you would be able to take advantage of the App Platform auto deploy features and you would not have to manage your Droplet separately.
