Hello all !
According to Kubernetes official documentation, it’s possible to clone a PVC from another PVC.
apiVersion: v1
kind: PersistentVolumeClaim
metadata:
name: cloned-pvc
spec:
dataSource:
name: existing-src-pvc-name
kind: PersistentVolumeClaim
accessModes:
- ReadWriteOnce
resources:
requests:
storage: 10Gi
On my DigitalOcean cluster, kubectl apply
with above config seems to work, but i got the status PENDING state for the PVC indefinitely.
Thanks for help,
Mike

Hi there!
One way to accomplish this would be using volumesnapshot objects. This will allow you to take a snapshot of a pv, and then create a a new volume based off the snapshot of that pv.
You can find documentation on how to accomplish this here: https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/storage/volume-snapshots/
