Running a command on your local computer to upload files to your server is pretty easy on macOS or Linux where you can use scp:
scp -r /path/to/my/files root@:0.0.0.0:/path/on/my/server
or rsync
rsync -avz /path/to/my/files root@:0.0.0.0:/path/on/my/server
While there are versions of rsync and scp/sftp available for windows they are not installed by default and getting started with a GUI client like Filezilla might be an easier way to go.
Hi…the answer by ryanpq helped me but has typos. There should be no colon after root@. Here is the correct syntax. rsync -avz /path/to/my/files root@0.0.0.0:/path/on/my/server

Hello, all
The web console is intended to access your droplet in a case of emergency in order to sort out the issue. I will highly recommend to use a ssh-client in order to access and manage your droplet.
You can also check our docs on How to Connect to Droplets with SSH:
https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/droplets/how-to/connect-with-ssh/
There are two options at the bottom of the doc: Connect with OpenSSH and Connect with PuTTY
As for the files upload you can simply upload them using sFTP with FileZilla or using rsync
or scp
in your ssh client.
You can find more information in the already provided article:
Hope that this helps! Regards, Alex
This tutorial helped me a lot! As I already had Putty installed I use pageant to insert my passphrase. I t was very very easy! There goes the link:
Thank you both for your answers. I ended up transferring the file through FTP.
Hi,
You can copy file on your droplet using below command, if you are using any Linux distro.
1.Open terminal and run below command.
rsync -avz source/file/path example@yourdriopletpublicIP:/home/example
You can also use FileZilla to copy file from local system to server.
Hope it will help you…
