I used this tutorial to install https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-the-wordpress-one-click-install-on-digitalocean wordpress and i have done everything until the login and passowrds
when i try to type this command mysql -uroot -p
it keeps asking about my sql password. i don't know what it is. i have tried to type my sudo user password and it keeps telling this ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES). also when i try go to /root/.digitaloceanpassword to get my password it keep telling me this /root/.digitaloceanpassword: Permission denied.
So is there anything I can do?

Are you logged in to the CLI as root? If not, you'll need to be as that file is owned by the root user, thus users with less permissions than root, such as normal users with the ability to SSH in to the Droplet, or sudo users not prefixing commands with sudo won't be able to access the file.

As root, you should be able to do:

    ls -al /root/.digitalocean_password

and confirm that it's owned by root and then, as root, run:

    cat /root/.digitalocean_password

As a sudo user, you should be able to run

    sudo cat /root/.digitalocean_password

If you run the command below, will that allow you to view the contents of the file?

cat /root/.digitalocean_password

I just ran the WordPress 4.7 one-click installer and when running the above, was able to get the info needed to login.

Thank you SO much. I have been trying since last wednesday a lot of different tutorials but you really helped me SIR. Thank you
